The downtown trolley runs through downtown Scottsdale, while the neighborhood trolley runs from downtown Scottsdale to the neighborhoods of South Scottsdale. It connects to the city of Tempe's own free public circulator – Tempe Orbit on Roosevelt and Scottsdale Road. Scottsdale is also home to three distinct art districts: The largest is the Scottsdale Main Street Arts District which is home to the largest and most diverse collection of styles and genres; the more contemporary Marshall Way Arts District; and the more touristy Western-themed Old Town District with the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. In 1999, the school opened a second campus at Scottsdale Airpark allowing it to serve the business community north of Scottsdale.
The city also hosts an annual month-long event – The Scottsdale Jaycees Parada del Sol – which has been held in Scottsdale since 1954. Located on the corner of Scottsdale and Indian Bend Roads is Papago Park which was once home to a German prisoner of war camp. Today it houses a unique model railway building that spans 10,000 square feet and includes four model railway clubs and a Magma Arizona Railroad locomotive.
